Etobicoke residents question 3,500 jobs on Mr. Christie's site

The City of Toronto estimates 3,500 jobs will be created on the former Mr. Christie's site, leading some residents to express skepticism about whether they will be sustainable and how well they will serve the influx of people that will be moving to the area in the future.

In the latest public meeting about the site development on Nov. 12, Etobicoke-Lakeshore Coun. Mark Grimes announced the job numbers, saying they have been "locked down" — though a later statement to toronto.com from City Planning and Economic Development and Culture said absolute jobs numbers have not yet been confirmed and that "the City will be encouraging additional employment related development."
